Carriel 한국어 Download

Start here

Put things in your pouch with ⌃⌥⌘V

The card. Press ⌃⌥⌘V, paste or drop, check the name, press Return.

The card is how things go into your pouch. It opens over whatever you’re doing and closes again as soon as the thing is in.

Put something in

  1. Press ⌃⌥⌘V in any app. A small glass card opens at the top of the screen.
  2. Paste with ⌘V, or drop a file on the card. You can also type, for a password you never copied anywhere.
  3. Carriel fills in a name and a category when it recognises what you gave it. The name comes in selected, so typing replaces it.
  4. Press Return. The card closes into the pouch in the menu bar.

A notice confirms it, such as “OpenAI API key is in your pouch”, with Undo and Edit for a few seconds. Carriel then clears the clipboard. If the copy came from an app that keeps text, like Notes, the notice says it’s still there, so you can delete it there.

Other ways in: drop a file on the pouch in the menu bar, choose Tuck In… from the pouch’s menu (Control-click it), or press ⌘N in the panel.

What the card shows

  • The name, the only field you type in.
  • What it is and how long it is, such as “OpenAI project key · •••• 51 characters”. The four dots are always four: they mean “hidden”, not a length. Hold ⌥ to see the value in the card itself.
  • The category strip: eight places, picked with ⌘1 to ⌘8.
  • For a key, the env name it maps to, such as OPENAI_API_KEY.
  • For an Apple .p8 key, what it’s for: App Store Connect or Push notifications. The key ID comes from the file name.
  • A line under the strip when there’s something to know: it’s already in your pouch, your pouch is getting full, or it didn’t save. Each comes with what to do.
  • Where it came from, such as “Copied from Safari” or “Dropped from Finder”. Hold ⌘ and the footer shows the keys instead.

Several things at once

Paste an .env block and the card offers to split it. Each secret becomes its own thing, ticked. Settings that aren’t secrets, like PORT, come unticked. Or keep the whole block as one note: its names stay visible and its values don’t.

When Carriel doesn’t know it

Carriel recognises keys from more than 80 services by their shape. When it doesn’t know one, the name field stays empty for you, with Other chosen, and the card says “Carriel doesn’t know this one”. It never makes up a name from the characters of the value: not a key’s first letters, not a note’s first line.

What the card won’t take

  • A folder. Compress it first (Control-click it, then Compress), and drop the .zip.
  • A file over 10 MB. For a PDF, make it smaller in Preview (File › Export, then Reduce File Size), and drop it again.
  • Your Apple Account’s own recovery key, until you’ve added a pouch password. Add one first, or keep that key on paper.
  • More than your pouch holds: 25 things free, up to 100 with the bigger pouch. The card offers Tidy Up first, with Return, and the bigger pouch second, with ⌘Return. What you tried to tuck in stays on your clipboard.

A Carriel license

Copy the license from LonelyDuck’s email and press ⌃⌥⌘V: the card knows a Carriel license, says so, and offers Use License. It isn’t kept as a thing, nothing of it is shown, and the clipboard is cleared. A license for another app stays an ordinary thing. See Your license.

Tucking in never asks for Touch ID, even while Carriel is locked. Carriel reads your clipboard only when you paste into the card, never when it opens.
